Structural Framing (Walls & Roofs)

My comprehensive skills in structural framing systems were developed through practical exercises at Conestoga College, covering both wood and steel stud applications for wall and roof construction. I gained hands-on proficiency in precise wood wall frame assembly, including layout, stud placement, and framing for door and window rough openings. My experience also includes working with interior steel stud framing to create partitions and complex openings. This foundational work extended to constructing diverse and complex wood roof structures, such as gable, hip, shed, and intersecting rooflines, where I applied skills in rafter layout, accurate cutting (common, hip, and jack rafters), and robust assembly to ensure structural integrity. These exercises solidified my understanding of load paths, building code principles (as applied in training), and the creation of durable foundational frameworks for various construction scenarios.
